I was looking into the same thing. Check out this website–they have lots of before and after pictures:
I’d be curious to hear about other people’s experiences with this as well.

I have seen it done years ago. They use a special paint that contains porcelain. The price was $200 back then. The fumes are horrible when they spray it.
It looks OK. An alternative to replacing the whole tub.
