JustMe asked:
anybody have experience with home projects on a manufactured home? we took down the seams and are trying to mud and paint haha what a nightmare. we’re trying to make it look more like a “real” house. eventually we will need to replace the cabinets and all, i’m terrified. all the materials used in our house are of poor quality and so much was done with terrible craftsmanship (too much to list). fortunately, it’s brand new. does anyone have any advice or success stories that will make me feel better?

My Husband and I replaced all the sheet rock in the trailer and neither of us are good at mud work so we decided to use a notched trowel to spread the mud on the entire wall so the depth is even the smooth that out a lil then place the trowel flat on the wall and pulled away leaving peeks that we knocked down…. Giving a stucco effect.. we loved it we also went w/ round metal corners rather then square ones. You can do the same thing w/ out replacing all the sheet rock. But prime the wall first.

Yes my home is a 1973 completely remodeled trailer. It looks the same as you would buy off the lot.It has 2×6 studs outer walls,2×4 interior walls with deck and add on laundry room.Yes it was work but well worth it.All of my cabinets are wood.New central heat and air conditioned. You will be proud when the work is done.
