Should We Pave Before or After Construction?

by on Feb.27, 2010, under Uncategorized

Paving the ground is vital in any construction project because it does not only makes the surrounding area of the edifice cleaner-looking and thus more easy on the eyes; it also makes the ground more easy to keep.

However, the problem of whether to commence paving prior to building actually gets constructed; or once its foundation has already been erected, is one the contractors and owners have to carefully discuss.

PAVE BEFORE OR AFTER?

In some locations, the local government may compel the builders to pave the ground before construction begins. The basis for this is to have a road that will be easier to access lest anything untoward happen during construction; like as fire incidents.

Because of this, the road should be developed and paved before starting the construction of the edifice. However, the dilemma here is that damage to the paving may occur when heavy equipments pass through the paved road.

We should then view all options available to protect the paving during heavy construction.

On the other hand, if there are no strict rules on paving prior to construction, then there is no dilemma here. We can begin paving after we have finished at least the heavy construction processes to make sure that the paved road will not be damaged in any way and will still be intact after we have finished the entire construction project.

PREPARING TO PAVE

Before we can start paving, we must first check the quality of the soil so we can create the perfect base for the paving material. Testing for tender areas in the soil is essential as this will likewise help us to come up with the right mix of foundation for the different soil qualities within the location.

There are expert pavers that can can work on this and undertake the whole paving aspect to ensure that the completed paving can withstand pressure such as heavy traffic; passing through of heavy vehicles and such; and also staving off moisture or minimizing the level as much as possible.
